About
Our Pastors
Pastors
Phil and Marilyn met when they were sixteen at a church function in
Lansing, Michigan. They married two years later in 1972. They have
three sons, two wonderful daughter’s-in-law, and eight grandchildren.
They have had many serous trials and tribulations, but God has bound
them together and their marriage is a strong and loving one.
Phil
and Marilyn co-founded Covenant Life Worship Center along with five
other’s in May 1998. They enjoy co-pastoring together.
Pastor Phil
Phil
was born on July, 1954, to Ralph and Charlotte Parmelee. Phil and his
half-brothers grew up in Lansing, Michigan. Phil was raised in church.
His father played the organ, his mother the piano in the churches they
attended. Phil gave his life to God at an early age. At the age of 13
he began playing the piano for his church youth group. Feeling the call
of God on his life he attended Baptist Bible College where he received
his B.A. in Music Composition. Phil’s uninhibited worship of the Lord
shows his deep love for Christ. Phil is the composer of over 200 praise
and worship songs. Having been established in the Word as a Baptist,
Phil brings a balanced view of spirituality and Kingdom living to the
body of Christ. Phil has an enlightened view of the Word of God and has
a prophetic insight that revolutionizes the common view of a brother in
Christ. His temperament teachings come with years of introspection,
professional training and a constant view of current godly
understandings.
Pastor
Marilyn
Marilyn
was born and raised in Charlotte, Michigan to Merl and Vada Kenney.
Marilyn was raised in a large family of seven children. Though Marilyn
was raised attending church she did not receive Jesus as her savior
until she was married and pregnant with her first child. Marilyn’s
relationship with God is a deep and personal one. She believes that it
is every believer’s right and privilege to know God in a very intimate
way. While attending college with her husband, she became distracted
with the cares of three children and subsequently was unable to
complete her studies. This in no way disqualifies her as an effective
teacher of the Word of God. Through years of serious trials and
tribulations, she has developed an understanding that only “street
knowledge” can teach a person.
Marilyn
flows in a prophetic call with an apostolic understanding that touches
the minds and spirits of the current churched member as well as those
not yet reconciled to God. For over five years she sat under the
dynamic teachings, prophetic revelation and ministrations of the
Prophet, Kim Clement in Detroit, Michigan at the New Life Christian
Center led by Pastor and Apostle C.L. Johnston. This has changed her
life and the lives of her family, as well as the local church body.
Proclaiming the dynamic truth of Kingdom Living she is truly one of the
“Millennium Warriors.”
Marilyn
is the author of “Hearing God’s Voice for Yourself…A Beginner’s Guide.
She has traveled to Guatemala with a church group and has
been to
Ghana, West Africa as a speaker twice, where she helped to start four
churches with Maranatha Power Mission. Marilyn holds workshops on
“Hearing God’s Voice” as well as on the prophetic, and has taught at a
local “School of the Prophets”.
